Hollywood Studios - Disney World Day 2

Our hotel was significantly more crammed than the three bedroom condo we stayed in on the first night of our vacation.  The great trade-off, though, was the awesome breakfast each morning!  It was without a doubt the largest "free breakfast" area I've ever seen in a hotel.  The place was huge, and it was packed every morning.  The children ate waffles every morning and loved them.

Day two on our vacation was spent at Hollywood Studios.

We entered the park just as it opened and we (along with everyone else) ran to the Toy Story ride and joined the long line. These Disney parks are crazy and there are so many people!  The ride is one of our favorites at Disneyland and it was fun to ride it again.  The 50 minute wait was definitely longer than we like, though.

The funnest ride in the whole park was Rock N' Rollercoaster.  The story of the ride is that the band Aerosmith is trying to get to a concert, and we joined them in a limousine rollercoaster to fly across town, while listening to Aerosmith music.  The children all loved it.  Even Alyssa had a blast on it. She was in tears as we prepared to board the ride, though, because she thought it would be scary.  Her big fear was that it would go upside down.  It did, but she was still willing to go on it a second time!  The boys loved it from the start.

We got to see some Star Wars characters walking across the park.  We missed a performance they had, but it was fun to see them parade down the street.

Star Wars is a big deal at Hollywood Studios.  One of the attractions was a movie that shows behind-the-scenes footage of Star Wars films.  Another was a museum of sorts that displays costumes and props from the films.  A new Star Wars land will be coming in the next year or so, which got the boys excited to come back.

I'm so proud of Logan.  We took him on Tower of Terror a bit too early in his childhood, and that ride has haunted him for years.  This year, he faced his fears, rode the ride, and handled it great!

Everyone rode it.  Alyssa was also scared to ride it, but agreed to try it once.  Luckily, we didn't traumatize her like we did Logan all those years ago.

The line for Star Tours wound through an Ewok village and it had a huge ATAT that was really cool.  The ride was a lot of fun, just like the Disneyland version.

We pushed for a later lunch and drove back to our hotel to get some pizza.  The children played on a  playground while we waited for our lunch.  Getting away from the park was a nice break for Dad and everyone was good to humor me.

The temperatures in Florida are almost always warm or hot, but we happened to be there during a crazy cold pattern.  The week before we got there, it was snowing in Florida.  It had warmed up while I was at my convention, though.  Jill kept asking me if she should pack pants and warm clothes.  I told her over and over, "It's warm here and it's a waste of space to pack warm clothes."  I was wrong, though, and it was really cold!  Saturday, especially was cold.  It was so cold in fact, that we did go back to the park for a couple of hours in the afternoon, but we left before the closing.  We were just too cold to stay for the evening show.

Back at the hotel we saw the BYU tennis team and hung out drinking soda.

Hollywood Studios was nice, but we were so cold it was hard to really enjoy it completely.  Even worse, Logan was beginning to feel sick.  We hoped a good night's sleep in a warm hotel room would help him feel better.
