Daddy Daughter Dance and Scouts Going Fishing

Alyssa has been taking dance again this year from Shelly Umphenour.  This year, Shelly hosted a Daddy Daughter Dance on the first weekend in February.  Alyssa and I went and had an absolutely lovely time.  It was held at the city building.  We dressed up fancy and I got a corsage for her and she got a boutonnière for me.  We ate dinner, had our pictures taken, played a couple of games, and, of course, danced.

We ate dinner (tacos) with two other families from our ward:  Jared Lott and Brad Wilfert and their daughters.

We danced so much to various group dances that even clumsy dads could dance along to.  Alyssa felt really special and we had so much fun.

Landon's scout troop went fishing in February.  Landon had never really fished (except in our backyard in the canal).  He was excited to go play in the snow and try his hand at ice fishing at Strawberry Reservoir.

Landon had a lot of fun playing in the snow and he did catch some fish.  In fact, he caught the most fish and was really proud.  John Nielson, our assistant scout master, was really terrific and after the whole day of fishing had come to an end, he took the boys to his house and helped them clean and cook their fish.

Landon actually liked eating the fish, but it's not his favorite food.
