Our adorable niece Jakayla was called to serve a mission in Limatombo, Peru. She was going to a brand new mission that didn't even exist until this summer. Her mission president was called and she even went to his farewell. She gave a nice farewell talk and the Bryants invited us over for a big lunch after church.
Later we all gathered so her Stake President could set her apart. It was a nice time for the whole family to gather and wish her well as she departed to the Peru MTC.
Alyssa is our last student in elementary school and she participated once again in the school fundraiser fun run. She ran 20 laps and finished exhausted!
She and Jill attended Mom's and Muffins at her school where they eat a breakfast treat and read books.
In other random news, Grandma and Grandpa came to watch Logan play football. This year they had no tryouts for his age. Everybody who showed up at tryouts was put on one team and they began practicing right away. Many of the boys decided to play high school football but he wanted to do little league for one more year. It's less of a commitment so he could do all the fun summer things he got to do. Next year, summer will be almost 100% football.
Jill is lengthening her stride with her new calling. She attends quarterly stake council meetings at 6:30 am! She has also been asked to speak in various sacrament meetings along with the high council. She has spent a lot of time trying to figure out this new calling. One of her first responsibilities was planning a leader appreciation dinner for all of the ward young women leaders. She does a great job and doesn't even complain.
The new Young Women presidency in our ward planned a lovely thank you for the former presidency. They brought Jill a treat and wished her well.
